DOVER HEIGHTS 1998

This was an architect designed house with many building challenges, including the need to keep the existing side walls of the existing property. The residence was built on sand. The roof needed to be relatively flat with large box gutters and parapet walls. There were many concrete designed features needing precise formwork, including exposed beams and concrete portico roofs.

Difficulties in building construction included rear canter-levered verandas, concrete roofed garage with waterproofed veranda above, building very close to existing swimming pool and high winds generated from the ocean area.

The owners were extremely happy and in fact till this day still recommend Akira Homes to all their friends.
