WOOLWICH 2002This was an architect designed house sitting right on the water’s edge looking down Sydney Harbour. This construction had many difficulties, namely the site being at the end of a long driveway, dropping approximately 4 metres straight down a rock face and the house itself being built on reclaimed tidal land, the concrete had to be poured at low tide. Construction materials were delivered via barge and rubbish removed the same way. The interior designer had very particular ideas that Akira Homes easily fulfilled.
The house had many features including C-bus Electrical System, driveway turntable, full concrete curved staircase and provincial kitchen. Each interior door was heavily embellished with timber moulding making them so heavy that special hinges had to be sourced to hold them.
This construction was a challenge but was met by Akira Homes. The owners were extremely happy with the construction and they employed Akira Homes to renovate another property they owned.
